AWS Cloud Architect
Primary stack
Job description
About the Position
Serve as a cloud architect specializing in secure and scalable AWS data and application platforms for a global enterprise. Design resilient hybrid cloud solutions that optimize cost performance and operational excellence while enabling reliable data migration, container orchestration, and governance aligned to strategic business outcomes and regulatory expectations across regions.
Responsibilities
- Design cloud architectures on AWS that align with enterprise standards and translate complex business requirements into reliable, secure, and cost-optimized solutions that scale with future growth needs.
- Implement robust data processing workflows using AWS Data Pipeline and related services to ensure timely, accurate, and resilient data movement across diverse enterprise systems.
- Configure and maintain Amazon ECR repositories to support secure container image storage, version control, and efficient deployment workflows for microservice-based applications.
- Set up and tune AWS Shield and complementary security controls to protect internet-facing workloads from distributed threats while supporting compliance objectives and risk management practices.
- Develop and manage autoscaling strategies using AWS Autoscaling to maintain application performance under varying loads while minimizing unnecessary resource consumption.
- Design data models and operational patterns for Amazon DocumentDB to support highly available, low-latency, and secure document-oriented applications that power critical business capabilities.
- Leverage AWS Systems Manager to standardize configuration management, patch automation, and operational insights, enabling consistent fleet management across hybrid environments.
- Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters with AWS EKS to run containerized workloads with strong security, scalability, and observability, supporting continuous delivery pipelines.
- Coordinate deployment of certificates using AWS Certificate Manager to enable encrypted communication, enforce security best practices, and simplify certificate lifecycle operations.
- Apply AWS CLI in daily operations to script repeatable tasks, enforce infrastructure standards, and accelerate troubleshooting across multiple cloud accounts and regions.
- Optimize distributed caching strategies with AWS ElasticCache to reduce latency, enhance application responsiveness, and support high throughput transaction and analytics workloads.
- Use AWS App Discovery Service and AWS Migration Evaluator to assess current environments, estimate costs, and shape migration roadmaps that reduce risk and improve return on investment.
- Employ AWS Control Tower, AWS MGN, AWS MigrationHub, and AWS DMS to plan, execute, and track application and data migrations, ensuring minimal disruption and reliable cutover for stakeholders.
- Integrate identity and access management using AWS ADFS and AWS Networking capabilities to deliver secure, segmented, and resilient connectivity across hybrid and multi-account landscapes that support hybrid work models.
- Document architecture decisions, operational runbooks, and standards clearly to enable efficient knowledge sharing among teams working in a hybrid model with day shift schedules.
Requirements
- Demonstrate solid experience designing and implementing AWS architectures that make extensive use of AWS Data Pipeline, Amazon ECR, AWS EKS, and AWS Systems Manager in production environments.
- Exhibit strong capability working with AWS Shield, AWS Certificate Manager, and AWS Networking services to implement layered security, encryption, and reliable connectivity across hybrid networks.
- Show hands-on proficiency with AWS Autoscaling, AWS ElasticCache, and Amazon DocumentDB to deliver performant, scalable, and resilient application platforms for business-critical workloads.
- Display proven experience orchestrating large-scale migrations using AWS App Discovery Service, AWS Migration Evaluator, AWS Control Tower, AWS MGN, AWS MigrationHub, AWS DMS, and related services for complex enterprises.
- Apply advanced scripting skills using AWS CLI and infrastructure as code practices to automate environment provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks with consistent outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional partners to translate technical designs into practical implementation plans that support hybrid work, no travel expectations, and sustainable operations.
Certifications Required
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified Data Analytics or equivalent enterprise cloud certification
