Backend developer

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with strong cloud experience to join our team in Mexico. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building scalable applications on Google Cloud Platform and is comfortable working across modern backend and (optionally) frontend technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, GCS Buckets, networking, Redis/MemoryStore).
• Build robust backend services using Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Containerize applications using Docker and implement CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Collaborate within a GitHub-based workflow (version control, pull requests, code reviews).
• Optionally contribute to frontend development using TypeScript, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and Node.js.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Celery or background job processing.
• Experience working with Databricks or data engineering / analytics platforms.
• Exposure to modern frontend frameworks and full-stack development.
• Strong DevOps mindset and familiarity with cloud infrastructure best practices.
