Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist - Acute Wards & Emergency Med

About the Position

We are currently recruiting for a Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist – Acute Wards & Emergency Medicine to work on a temporary basis in Lincolnshire, UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to join a busy acute and emergency medicine team.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical pharmacy input across acute wards and the emergency department.
• Lead on medicines optimisation and support the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care to acutely unwell patients.
• Perform complex clinical screening and verification of prescriptions.
• Provide expert medicines advice to acute and emergency multidisciplinary teams.
• Lead on medicines optimisation initiatives within the specialty.
• Support and mentor junior pharmacy staff.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of medicines-related policies and guidelines across acute services.

Requirements

• Current GPhC registration.
• Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience at Band 7 or above.
• Demonstrable experience in senior clinical pharmacy practice within an acute or emergency medicine setting.
• Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation, clinical screening, and evidence-based prescribing in acute care.
• Ability to work at pace and make sound clinical decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience leading or supervising pharmacy teams.
• Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex clinical workload.
