Band 8a Mental Health Pharmacist

About the Position

We are currently recruiting for a Band 8a Mental Health Pharmacist to work on a temporary basis in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, United Kingdom. This role involves providing specialist clinical pharmacy support within mental health services, including medicines optimisation, clinical screening, patient counselling, and supporting safe and effective prescribing.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support within mental health services
• Engage in medicines optimisation
• Conduct clinical screening
• Offer patient counselling
• Support safe and effective prescribing
• Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care across mental health wards and community services

Requirements

• GPhC registration
• Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience
• Mental health pharmacy experience (desirable)
• Strong clinical screening and medicines optimisation skills
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a specialist caseload
