Business Development Director - Sector TelCo

About the Position

We are looking for a Business Development Director with solid experience in the TelCo sector in the sale of consulting services and IT solutions, who will lead business growth within one of the most strategic accounts in the Spanish market. The person will be responsible for identifying and maximizing opportunities within existing and new accounts, driving their growth, profitability, and positioning the company as a long-term reference partner.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the growth strategy within the account, identifying new business lines and expansion opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities in different areas of the client (business, IT, innovation) to increase presence and impact, offering value propositions.
  • Build trust relationships with key stakeholders, including executive-level interlocutors and contributing to the company's positioning as a strategic partner in digital transformation processes.
  • Identify key partners for the TelCo business with whom an alliance can be established to generate opportunities, provide resources, and reduce risks to enhance the business model.
  • Promote cross-selling and up-selling of solutions (Cloud, Data, AI, platform modernization, etc.).
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process and offers to adapt the proposal to the client's requirements.
  • Influence client interlocutors, direct sales meetings, and manage their expectations to develop long-term relationships for business benefit.
  • Position yourself as a strategic advisor to the client, understanding their roadmap and business challenges.
  • Manage the account's P&L, optimizing growth, margins, and efficiency.
  • Create an internal network of relationships within GFT, fostering collaboration and leveraging best practices to generate synergies between different teams.
  • Together with the Marketing department and SMEs, devise communication actions (events, webinars, social media actions, etc.) for lead generation.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of proven experience in the sale of consulting and tailored IT solutions and products within the TelCo sector, opening new clients and retaining existing ones.
  • Proven experience in business development in the TelCo sector, working with the top 3 clients in Spain.
  • Demonstrated history of business expansion in existing accounts, improving margins and profitability, and generating recurring growth.
  • Experience in complex environments with multiple interlocutors.
  • Knowledge of the main challenges of the TelCo sector at the functional and process level and technological modernization through cloud architectures, adoption of advanced capabilities (AI, data, and automation), and end-to-end process transformation.
  • Ability to understand different functional and technical requirements, especially exponential technologies such as AI, Blockchain and DLT, Cloud, and Data Analysis.
  • Experience in P&L management or economic responsibility of accounts.
