Business Development Manager - NSW

We're looking for an excellent Business Development Manager (BDM) to help us build and maintain great relationships with brokers in NSW. If you’re looking to shake things up and make a difference in a diverse, unified team with no elbows, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Performance: Responsible for application results across our aggregator partners.
  • Broker Relationship Management: Be the "go-to person" for your brokers. Build and maintain outstanding broker relationships. Proactively manage a pipeline of broker scenarios and submitted applications, constantly striving for the ultimate broker and customer experience.
  • New Broker Relationships: Seek out new broker relationships, nurture these relationships until they become vocal advocates for Athena, true raving fans. You are a great presenter and a “coach”.
  • Broker Onboarding: Run interactive broker onboarding sessions to provide in-depth knowledge of Athena, who we are, what we do, the customers that are right for Athena, our product & process.
  • Engagement: You are very engaging over phone, SMS, email, and Zoom. Majority of the time will be on the road for broker face-to-face visits, PD days, broker events, etc.
  • Aggregator Relationships: Manage relationships with aggregators including partnership managers and state leaders.
  • Internal Decision Making: Contribute to discussions in Athena about opportunities and ways to improve.
  • Policy and Platform: Work with Cyber, Tech, Risk, and other functions to get to effective policy outcomes. Provide feedback and ideas to help ensure that Athena platforms are the best in the market.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar BDM role managing relationships with broker networks and individual brokers.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with brokers, credit teams, and clients.
  • Great focus on sales and conversion.
  • Exceptional communication skills – clear, engaging, and professional.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Focused on continuous development.
  • Critical thinker and confident in decision-making.
