About the Position
We are seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to facilitate complex projects, ensure application compliance, and manage system testing activities. This is a remote position based in Buffalo, New York.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for facilitating moderately complex projects from proposal through post-implementation.
- Participates in meetings with lines of business to identify their requirements in how an application looks and feels to the end user; provides feedback on them.
- Writes and executes test cases for assigned applications or systems. Coordinates implementation and post-implementation process in identifying impact to application before and after implementing application changes.
- Completes various system testing activities not covered by other teams such as clients completing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Prepares well-documented functional specifications, test plans, test cases, and executes test cases.
- Serves as a mentor to less experienced staff by assisting in application training, research analysis, and project methodology consultation.
- Meets with business clients to discuss requested application changes related to an enterprise-wide or business initiative, compliance/regulatory requirement, required system change due to contractual agreement, or system maintenance (business as usual [BAU]).
- Reviews business requirements with the Technology team to ensure understanding of project requirements. Prepares test plans and scripts based on functional specifications.
- Manages and executes test cases verifying changes/enhancements work and perform as expected and required.
- Works with peers to determine the impact of application changes on other systems.
- Participates in integrated testing as required.
- Monitors functional specifications and change requests to ensure the project stays within scope and meets regulatory requirements, while ensuring adherence to business requirements and Corporate Technology standards.
- Ensures efficient and timely resolution of issues arising from testing or implementation to ensure expected performance.
- Coordinates post-implementation follow-up by getting feedback from application owners and resolving any issues resulting from implementation of application changes.
- Understands and adheres to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identifies risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Requirements
- Process definition and implementation in a regulated industry
- Experience guiding teams building, operating, or governing APIs
- Governance mindset
- Combined minimum of 4 years higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience.
- Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent software packages.
- Solid problem-solving skills to assist in issue resolution.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience or subject matter expert in business with knowledge and experience utilizing application/system being supported.
- Successful performance in Technology Internship.
- Capable of working on multiple projects of basic to moderate complexity.
- Proven understanding of applications supported with a knowledge of interfacing/integrated applications.
- Ability to effectively use project management, word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Good understanding of the Bank's application framework.
- Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms.
