About the Position
We are seeking a skilled C++ Developer to create a robust application for searching strings in files. This role requires expertise in C++ programming, multi-threading, and error handling.
Responsibilities
- Create an application which can be used to search for a string in files.
- The application will receive two command line parameters. The first parameter is a path to a file or folder, while the second parameter is the string to be searched for (maximum length of 128 characters).
- Print the output to stdout in the format:
: Name of a file containing the string,: Offset within the file where the string started (zero based),: Contains three characters in front of the match,: Contains three characters after the match. - Ensure the application can handle large files and recursively traverse directories.
- Implement multi-threading to maximize speed.
- Handle exceptions and errors properly, providing meaningful error messages.
Requirements
- Proficiency in C++ programming.
- Experience with multi-threading.
- Strong understanding of error handling.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming principles.
- Knowledge of C++ best practices.
- Experience with memory management and avoiding memory leaks.
- Preference for C++14 standard libraries, with Boost usage being acceptable.
