Core Software Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Core Software Engineer proficient in C++ to develop an interpreter for EVM2 programs. Your role will involve creating robust, efficient, and well-structured code.

Responsibilities

• Create an application in C++ that will execute provided EsetVm2 programs.
• Handle binary files encoded in a special format, called EsetVm2 (EVM2), which are supposed to be interpreted and executed by the code you are going to create.
• Ensure the interpreter supports printing the output to the console and provides EVM2 program the possibility to read and write data to disk.

Requirements

• Knowledge of safe programming (e.g., never dereference a null pointer).
• Proficiency in C++ programming best practices.
• Usage of object-oriented programming principles.
• Systematic use of naming conventions.
• Usage of the right comments at the right place.
• Good code structure.
• Handling of error states and exceptions.
• Avoidance of dangerous or error-prone constructs.
• Understanding of the “inner workings” of C++ and standard functions (e.g., wastage of memory or unnecessary (implicit/internal) string/memory copy operations).
