About the Position

Chief Accountant

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a Chief Accountant for our Kazakhstan team. This role involves leading local accounting and tax compliance in accordance with IFRS and local standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage the local accounting team, ensuring a stable work environment and supporting their professional development.
• Develop, formalize, and update the company's local accounting and tax policies annually.
• Streamline data flows between local sales channels, invoicing, and ERP systems to reduce manual processes.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation, conduct regular reviews of local tax workflows, and manage routine state tax audits.
• Collaborate with external firms and advisors for accurate tax return preparation and timely filing.
• Optimize month-end closing routines to meet local statutory and HQ deadlines with high accuracy.
• Oversee high-volume transaction processing and billing workflows to ensure operational accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

• Experience in leading accounting teams.
• Relevant experience in high-volume transactional tech platforms, fintech, telecom, or large retail/FMCG.
• Experience in preparing for and defending state tax audits, and working with external tax consultants.
• Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (1C: Enterprise 8.3) and experience with 1C developers.
• Strong data analytics skills (advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, Power Query).
• Higher degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Audit.
• Fluent English (C1/C2) for cross-border communication and reporting.
• Professional fluency in Kazakh for local regulatory interactions and tax reviews.
• Active Professional Accountant of Kazakhstan certification.
• Full ACCA membership or DipIFR holder (or currently pursuing upper-level papers) is advantageous.
• Certified Tax Advisor is a strong plus.
