About the Position
We are looking for a Chief-level Backstage.io GCP DevOps Engineer to lead infrastructure and platform delivery for an internal developer portal, covering web applications, Node.js hosting/deployment, and enterprise integrations. You will drive high-impact integrations and automation across distributed teams-apply to help shape a scalable developer platform.
Responsibilities
- Lead GCP infrastructure delivery for an internal developer portal with reliable hosting and deployment
- Design platform integrations that connect enterprise tools into a centralized software catalog
- Build capability to run Terraform scripts safely within platform workflows
- Integrate ELK entities into the Backstage catalog and maintain related templates and extensions
- Integrate JIRA Service Desk capabilities into the portal to streamline operational workflows
- Integrate Jenkins CI/CD capabilities into the portal and align pipelines with internal standards
- Coordinate work across distributed teams and operate with a time shift until 2pm PST
Requirements
- 7+ years of DevOps and infrastructure delivery experience
- 5+ years of Google Cloud Platform experience
- Proven leadership skills working independently across distributed cross-functional teams
- Strong project ownership skills from planning through delivery and operational handoff
- Hands-on ELK Stack integration experience with internal platforms and catalogs
- Web application and Node.js backend hosting and deployment expertise
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2)

- GitHub Copilot experience for AI-assisted development with agents, skills, and MCP
- Jenkins integration and administration experience
- Node.js and Node.js CLI development experience
- TypeScript development experience
- Redis experience
