About the Position

Chief of Staff Romania

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is seeking a Strategy & Operations Lead to serve as Chief of Staff to the General Manager (GM) in Romania. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the country and driving cross-functional projects that will shape the next two years.

Responsibilities

• Run the country's operating rhythm

  • Own the weekly review, MBR, QBR, and leadership team routines to ensure they drive decisions.
  • Build a reporting layer that catches problems early.
  • Surface issues within 48 hours with root causes and proposed fixes.
  • Drive calls and ensure their execution.
  • Be the GM's trusted source for on-the-ground insights.

• Drive cross-functional projects end to end

  • Transform the GM's projects from ambiguous briefs to delivered outcomes.
  • Frame problems, build plans, run meetings, and land results.
  • Perform necessary analysis, stakeholder calls, and slide creation.
  • Hand off projects to BAU or shut them down.

• Manage stakeholders inside and outside Romania

  • Prepare the GM for regional reviews, HQ asks, board updates, and partner escalations.
  • Translate between Romania and HQ, maintaining the GM's voice.
  • Run leadership team meetings and follow up on outcomes.
  • Hold leaders accountable to their commitments.

• Be the GM's actual partner

  • Manage the ask queue: track what's in, what's owed, and what's overdue.
  • Analyze decisions, considering options, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
  • Cover conversations the GM can't attend.
  • Push the leadership team to improve, including yourself.

Requirements

• Experience: 4 to 7 years total. Experience in top consulting, PE, IB, or equivalent is required. At least 18 months of actual operational experience is necessary.
• Skills:
  • Proven experience in running an operating cadence and shipping cross-functional projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to build narratives from data.
  • Ability to synthesize information into a single-page written decision.
  • Trust profile: people confide in you, you don't need credit, and you're comfortable being the second most informed person in the room.
  • Ability to push people, including those more senior, without making it personal.
  • Fluency in Romanian and English.
