Cloud Automation Developer (Senior)

About the Position

Cloud Services is advancing the Enterprise Cloud platform through a new generation of cloud automation, self-service capabilities, and platform engineering products. The aim is to give application teams a secure, governed, and streamlined way to consume cloud services, while reducing operational complexity and accelerating delivery. As part of the Platform Reliability and Public Cloud Services organization, the Cloud Automation Developer (Senior) will help evolve the EasyCloud program, contributing to the design and implementation of services that automate the provisioning, configuration, governance, and lifecycle management of Azure resources.

The role combines software, cloud, and platform engineering to deliver strategic products for teams worldwide. This includes reusable cloud services, APIs, portals, automation workflows, and deployment patterns that simplify infrastructure consumption for hundreds of application teams. Solutions will integrate Azure with platforms and services such as GitHub, ServiceNow, identity services, and Infrastructure as Code frameworks, with security, reliability, and compliance built in. The position offers the opportunity to work with enterprise-scale Azure environments within a global Cloud Services organization.

The objective is to deliver and continuously improve secure, reusable cloud automation products that make it easier for application teams to provision, configure, and operate cloud resources and services. Deliverables should combine infrastructure automation with full-stack software capabilities and be production-ready, maintainable, tested, observable, and aligned with security and governance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable Infrastructure as Code modules, templates, and workflows for provisioning and lifecycle management of Azure resources and shared cloud services.
• Develop full-stack self-service applications and supporting APIs that simplify cloud consumption and recurring operational tasks, integrating with relevant cloud, identity, GitHub, and ServiceNow services.
• Implement automated CI/CD workflows to build, validate, package, and deploy infrastructure and application changes consistently across environments.
• Create automated functional, regression, and deployment tests for software, APIs, infrastructure modules, and deployed cloud services.
• Integrate security and governance capabilities into delivery patterns, including identity and access management, policy enforcement, secrets handling, and auditability.
• Ensure operational readiness in delivered solutions, including monitoring, logging, alerting, documentation, and support or handover materials.
• Provide technical designs and implementation guidance that promote reuse, maintainability, and adoption by platform and application teams.
• Recommend and implement improvements that reduce manual effort, operational complexity, and time required to deliver cloud capabilities.
• Provide operational support for data processing and analytics services automations, and continuously evolve them to improve reliability, performance, security, and alignment with business needs.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of work experience in an international company environment
• Microsoft Azure and public-cloud architecture: designs and delivers secure, governed Azure solutions across cloud services and workloads
• Data processing and analytics services: Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Data Explorer, Stream Analytics, Event Hubs, Event Grid, IoT Hub; Storage Accounts (Data Lake Storage Gen2, Files, Queues, Tables), Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL Flexible Server, SQL Server
• Familiarity with AI and application services: Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, AI Foundry with Bing Search grounding, AKS, API Management, App Service, Logic Apps, Application Insights, Log Analytics
• Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation (Terraform): reusable modules for provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
• CI/CD and DevOps workflows (GitHub Actions or equivalent)
• Advanced full-stack software development (Java/Spring, REST APIs, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue)
• Cloud security, identity, and governance: access controls, policy, secrets management, audit requirements
• API and platform integration (Azure, GitHub, ServiceNow, identity services)
• Automated testing and quality engineering: functional, regression, and deployment tests
• Scripting and operational automation (PowerShell or equivalent)
• Monitoring and production operations: observability and lifecycle management
• Containers and Kubernetes (AKS): deployment and operational fundamentals
