Cloud Engineer – Azure, Microsoft 365 & Windows Server

About the Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join a client's infrastructure team, supporting both core operations and cloud environments. You will work across Windows Server estates, Azure IaaS, Entra ID, hybrid Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and general infrastructure services.

The role combines BAU support, project delivery, automation, and disciplined service management within a hybrid cloud environment spanning VMware, Azure, and a small GCP footprint.

This is a 100% remote role based in Portugal.

Responsibilities

Operations & Monitoring

• Administer and support Windows Server estates on VMware and Azure.
• Perform start-of-day checks, monitoring, and alert review.
• Manage Azure IaaS infrastructure, including VMs, networking, storage, backup, and monitoring.
• Support infrastructure for Microsoft Dynamics, DNS, and general platform services.
• Provide occasional support for a small GCP footprint.

Identity, Security & Microsoft 365

• Administer Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory, including synchronization and identity lifecycle.
• Apply security and least-privilege standards across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange.

Service Management & Automation

• Handle incidents and service requests via ITSM and Azure DevOps (ADO), including root cause analysis (RCA).
• Raise and implement changes through the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
• Automate repetitive tasks and provisioning using PowerShell, Terraform, and ADO pipelines.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks in Confluence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure IaaS experience, including VMs, networking, storage, backup, and monitoring.
• Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory administration.
• Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange.
• Experience with DNS and general infrastructure services.
• Experience with ITSM processes, including incident, request, and change management, and with Azure DevOps Boards.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• VMware experience.
• Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Microsoft Dynamics infrastructure support.
• Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Qualifications

No mandatory qualifications were provided. The following certifications are desirable:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102)
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)

• Gross annual salary: €35,000–€40,000, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
