Communications Officer for the Reform of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection

About the Position

East Europe Foundation, in partnership with the USAID/UK Dev project “Supporting Ukraine’s Digital Transformation” (DTA), is excited to announce an opening for a Communications Officer. This role will be instrumental in the reform of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our collaborative team. The ideal candidate will immerse themselves in the work, monitor the communication outcomes of project implementation, liaise with the communication team of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, and craft compelling texts about it – from critical reports to engaging posts for social media.

Commencement date: April 2024.

Employment Type: Part-time

Work Format: Hybrid (online with some offline events)

Responsibilities

• Support and implement strategies to promote the reform of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
• Provide advisory support to the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection to enhance communication effectiveness.
• Prepare information materials within the project(s) (press releases, news, articles, fact sheets, talking points, etc.).
• Maintain relationships with the media (event invitations, news pitches).
• Craft messages for social media.
• Participate in the creation of videos, writing scripts, and other texts.
• Create template communication texts.
• Identify and describe digitalization success stories.
• Conduct media monitoring.
• Perform other tasks within his/her competence at the request of the management.

Requirements

• Higher education not lower than the second level (master’s or specialist’s degree).
• Fluency in the Ukrainian language.
• The ability to create engaging, easy-to-read, and concise texts about complex subjects.
• Ability to understand complex processes before describing them.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in communications, copywriting, marketing, analytics, or other related fields.
• English language skills at least B1 (intermediate) level.
