Counsellor Therapist - CHO5

About the Position

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor Therapist for the HSE Counselling Primary Care (CIPC) service in Wexford, Ireland. Accredited Counsellor/Therapists are required for the CIPC service CHO5 Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford.

What is CIPC?

CIPC is the provision of short-term counselling in primary care settings to medical card holders aged 18 years and over by accredited, professionally qualified Counsellor/Therapists and Psychologists under the governance of the HSE National Counselling Service. Successful applicants may also have an opportunity to provide trauma-informed counselling contracts to clients of the National Counselling Service for adult survivors of childhood trauma (depending on relevant, clinical experience).

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term counselling in primary care settings.
• Offer trauma-informed counselling to clients of the National Counselling Service.
• Collaborate with the HSE National Counselling Service.

Requirements

• A recognised Level 7 qualification (QQI) in a relevant human science discipline or equivalent in a health and social care profession or health-related profession.
• Hold a degree or post-graduate qualification in counselling or psychotherapy recognised by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), a relevant body within the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP), or the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (IABCP).
• Have full accredited membership with one of the following: IACP, IABCP, or a relevant body within ICP.
• Hold a post-graduate qualification in counselling psychology or clinical psychology recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI).
• Have commenced the registration process with the PSI or be fully registered with the clinical or counselling psychology division of PSI.
• Have a minimum of two years relevant post-qualification experience.
