About the Position
We are seeking a seasoned Data Delivery Director with strong expertise in Data Software Engineering and deep Retail/CPG/MFG domain experience. This role is responsible for leading large, enterprise-scale data engineering programs, owning delivery across managed services and fixed-price engagements. The candidate will act as a trusted partner to senior Retail and CPG clients, driving data-led business outcomes across merchandising, supply chain, customer and digital commerce domains.
Responsibilities
- Lead and govern large-scale Retail & CPG data engineering and analytics programs across multiple portfolios
- Own end-to-end program delivery, including scope, timelines, quality, risk, financials and margins
- Build, scale and manage global delivery teams of 200+ data engineers, architects and delivery leaders
- Drive delivery excellence across managed services, fixed-price and outcome-based engagement models
- Establish strong program governance, delivery KPIs, SLAs and operational metrics
- Act as the primary client-facing delivery leader, engaging with CXOs, Retail IT leaders and business stakeholders
- Ensure alignment between data architecture, engineering execution and Retail business objectives
- Proactively manage risks, dependencies, escalations and stakeholder expectations across large programs
- Translate Retail business needs into scalable data engineering solutions across merchandising, supply chain, inventory, demand forecasting, customer, loyalty, omnichannel commerce, pricing, promotions and store operations
- Partner with sales and presales teams to shape delivery strategies for large Retail & CPG deals
- Engage confidently in architecture and design discussions with engineering and platform teams
- Mentor senior leaders and build high-performing, domain-focused delivery organizations
Requirements
- 20+ years of overall IT experience with 10+ years in senior leadership roles
- Expertise in Data Software Engineering and enterprise data platforms
- Proficiency in PySpark, Python-based data engineering and SQL
- Skills in Databricks, Lakehouse architectures and Snowflake
- Background in Power BI, analytical and reporting solutions including AIML
- Knowledge of open-source data frameworks, distributed processing technologies and large-scale analytical data processing
- Hands-on exposure to AWS and Azure cloud platforms in large Retail data environments
- Understanding of batch and streaming pipelines, data quality, performance optimization and Data governance
- Demonstrated success leading large enterprise delivery engagements with full delivery and financial ownership
- Competency in P&L, Margins and Utilization
- Extensive experience in managed services transitions, stabilization and steady-state delivery alongside fixed-price and milestone-based delivery models
- Active involvement in presales, RFP/RFI responses and large deal pursuits, defining delivery models, estimates, staffing plans and risk mitigation strategies
