About the Role

We are seeking a Data Engineer to collaborate with Munich Re on delivering data solutions for Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, a leading provider of specialty insurance solutions. Within Munich Re Global Specialty Insurance, data-driven decision-making and AI are key priorities to support Underwriting and Claims Excellence.

Responsibilities

Executing projects to provide actionable data assets
Preparing structured and unstructured data for analysis and BI reporting
Working with data from multiple sources, at various levels of complexity and granularity to deliver high-quality data
Developing dashboards using Power BI that enable data-driven decision-making
Leveraging GenAI for information extraction, data harmonization, and quality assurance
Being part of a global community of Data Analytics and AI experts, shaping the future of the insurance industry

Requirements

Fluency in English is a must
Bachelor’s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or equivalent combination of education and experience
+1-3 years of experience with data modeling, data intake, and data-curation procedures
Experience in the insurance industry
Expert SQL skills including experience with Databricks Unity Catalog
+2 years of hands-on Python experience
Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
Experience integrating GenAI into data/analytics workflows: RAG, vector databases/embeddings, semantic search, or document ingestion pipelines
Drive and dedication, as well as creativity and hands-on attitude
Strong oral and written communication in English and good interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
