About the Position
We're looking for a Data & AI Governance Consultant to join our team in Poland in a hybrid working mode. This is a highly visible consulting role for an expert passionate about solving complex enterprise challenges related to Data Management and AI Governance.
You will advise senior executives and help them define their data and AI strategy, establish operating models and guide organizations to comply with emerging AI regulations. This role sits within EPAM’s Global Data & Analytics Consulting practice and offers an opportunity to shape governance operating models for next-generation AI adoption while ensuring reliability, security, and regulatory alignment.

Responsibilities
- Lead Enterprise-wide Data & AI Governance strategy discussions and build trusted advisor relationships with client executives (CDO, CIO, CDAO, Risk Officers)
- Define and implement AI Governance frameworks aligned to regulatory and business requirements
- Conduct Data Management & Governance assessments to establish maturity roadmaps and execution plans
- Design federated governance operating models with councils, stewardship networks, and RACI structures
- Advise clients on GenAI risk mitigation including data leakage, IP exposure, hallucination risk, and compliant use of large language models
- Support regulatory readiness, audit preparation, and evidence documentation aligned with the EU AI Act and industry-specific regulations
- Deliver end-to-end consulting services from strategy ideation, ROI/business case development, and MVP definition to enterprise rollout
- Enable organizations through Data and AI literacy programs and drive change management initiatives
- Lead client workshops to discover priorities, assess capabilities, and define operational readiness
- Contribute to business development through proposals, SOWs, and delivery of executive presentations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology or a related field
- 6+ years of consulting experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or AI Governance initiatives
- Subject matter expertise in at least 2–3 of the following areas: Data & AI Governance, AI compliance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Lineage, Master Data Management
- Knowledge of governance frameworks such as DCAM and Responsible AI principles (fairness, transparency, accountability)
- Practical experience running maturity assessments and providing strategic implementation recommendations
- Familiarity with AI/ML lifecycle risks such as model drift, bias, and GenAI-specific risks
- Strong facilitation skills for workshops, stakeholder engagement, and executive-level discussions
- Hands-on experience with governance tools and Microsoft 365 for program documentation and collaboration
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with tools such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Ataccama, Azure Purview, or their open-source equivalents
- Knowledge of concepts such as Data Observability, DataOps, and Data Mesh
- Exposure to OCM frameworks (Prosci ADKAR, Kotter) and scaling enterprise transformations
