Data Scientist (Generative AI)

About the Position

We are looking for a Data Scientist (Generative AI) to join Lingaro's DS&AI Competency Center, AI team. You will help our clients deliver value by building end-to-end Talk-To-Data (TTD) Solutions powered by LLMs and GenAI models. Our team focuses on novel aspects of Generative AI and LLMs with a range of applications such as RAG, summarization, multi-agent workflows, and model fine-tuning. With our deep, PhD-level expertise in GenAI, NLP, and Computer Vision, we are a great team to join if you are willing to challenge yourself to new heights. We are looking for a long-term engagement in the space of GenAI and related aspects.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end GenAI applications such as chatbots, voicebots, Talk-to-Data systems, where you will help build: data ingestion, retrieval layer, orchestration (e.g. LangChain/LlamaIndex/LangGraph), API/backend, and simple UI where needed.
• Design and implement RAG pipelines with vector databases, hybrid search, rerankers, query transformation, and evaluation frameworks for relevance and robustness.
• Perform model selection, prompting strategies, and fine-tuning (LoRA/QLoRA/SFT) for text, code, and multimodal models, including guardrails, output evaluation, and A/B testing.
• Design, integrate, and optimize LLMs interaction with external tools, APIs, and data sources in a standardized and scalable way using Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors.
• Translate business problems into technical goals by defining success metrics, auditing data feasibility, and aligning stakeholder expectations.
• Support project delivery.
• Support pre-sales activities and initiatives.

Requirements

• Familiarity with the theory behind various deep learning concepts.
• Experience with Machine Learning (ML), especially in Generative AI (LLM/LMM) with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) or multimodal models.
• Experience with business requirements gathering, transforming them into technical plans, data processing, feature engineering, model evaluation, hypothesis testing, and model deployment.
• Fluency in Python and object programming, working knowledge of SQL and vector databases.
• Strong tech stack in Azure or GCP cloud.
• Knowledge of specific Deep Learning and GenAI libraries like: PyTorch, HuggingFace, LangChain, LangGraph, and GenAI APIs (e.g., OpenAI/Gemini).
• Hands-on experience designing or operating MCP servers/clients for LLM agents.

Nice to Have

• Experience in working with Databricks.
• Commercial experience proven by multiple successful projects in Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, or Computer Vision.
• Experience with microservice architectures.
• Experience with code repositories and code assistants.
• Strong business acumen.
• Ability to come up with creative solutions to address customer problems.
• Ability to lead juniors in a project team.
