About the Position

Join Perspectum as a Data Scientist in Oxford, UK. Develop and scale data science workflows using machine learning.

Responsibilities

Essential

• Carry out research into relevant data science algorithms
• Improve data science algorithms through empirical investigation and fine tuning
• Read and understand technical reports and algorithm specifications
• Develop proof-of-concept and prototype software
• Keep up to date with advances in data science, through team discussion meetings and conference attendance

Desirable

• Implement and extend state-of-the-art data science algorithms
• Write technical reports and algorithm specifications
• Contribute to scientific manuscripts, patents and grant applications
• Make presentations showcasing the work of the Group
• Collaborate with product management and software engineering teams on product development
• Collaborate with internal research teams and on external research collaborations
• Strengthen the interfaces with other Groups in Perspectum

Requirements

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline
• Solid grounding in mathematics/sciences
• Evidence of an interest in the application of research to biomedical problems
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good organisational skills
• Experience in artificial intelligence / machine learning / data science
• Experience in prototype coding (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
• Understanding of the importance of algorithmic validation

Desirable

• Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline, or relevant technical experience
• PhD in a relevant scientific discipline, or substantial technical experience
• Experience with medical imaging
• Experience with cloud computing
• Evidence of research achievement
• Experience in software engineering (e.g. C++, Python)
• Experience of algorithmic validation and documentation in support of regulatory submissions

We Offer

• Salary: £45,000.00 to £60,000.00 Per Annum
• Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom
• Type of contract: Permanent
