Job description
About the Position
Delivery Manager
Madrid, Spain
We are looking for a Delivery Manager (producer) to keep our engineering team moving. You are the person who asks whether work is blocked, why, and what to do about it, who connects people and information, and who pushes work to the finish. You work daily with the Tech Lead and the developers and report to the Director of Operations. The Tech Lead sets technical direction and roadmap priorities; you own tracking, follow-through, and process around them.
Responsibilities
- Keep work moving: check in on active tasks, spot blockers early, and resolve them or escalate with options.
- Keep the ClickUp engineering board accurate and current. Present it to developers as a shared picture of the work, not as monitoring.
- Support the Tech Lead in running a Kanban-style flow: weekly planning, a Friday review of the end-to-end product loop, and demos. Developers pick up tasks; you help them pick up and finish.
- Hold regular 1:1s with each developer to learn whether they understand the goal, have what they need, are stuck without saying so, dislike parts of the process, or are working on things no longer needed.
- Build delivery metrics gradually (velocity, cycle time, carry-over, blocked time) and introduce estimation step by step, one developer at a time, once the team has settled in.
- Identify priorities, gather the information the team lacks, and press for action.
- Take operational follow-up off the Tech Lead so he can spend his time on technical direction.
- Give the founders a short weekly delivery report: shipped, in progress, at risk, next.
- Improve how the team works with light practices: definitions of done, release checklists, estimation habits.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a delivery, project, producer, or scrum master role with software or engineering teams.
- A track record of keeping teams unblocked through persistent, direct, and constructive follow-up.
- Comfortable with Kanban and Agile, and hands-on with a work tracker such as ClickUp, Jira, or Linear.
- Technical enough to follow architecture and code discussions and to question estimates; you do not need to code.
- Good with engineers: you build rapport, help rather than police, and can tell when someone is stuck.
- Comfortable in an early-stage company where you shape the process yourself.
- Clear written and spoken English; Spanish is a plus.
- Based in Spain or ready to relocate.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a producer or delivery manager in a deep-technical industry.
- Experience with robotics, embedded, or simulation software, ideally ROS 2.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, testing in simulation, and release gating.
- Background as a developer, QA, or DevOps engineer before moving into delivery roles.
- Experience building velocity and cycle-time metrics from a task board.
We Offer
- Engagement: Full-time
- Compensation: Open, to be discussed
- Location: Madrid-based team, remote-friendly within Spain, with regular overlap on Madrid working hours
- Tools: ClickUp for engineering tasks, Google Workspace for documents, GitHub
- Team: developers, a Tech Lead, and the founders
- Impact: Direct ownership of how a robotics product gets built and shipped.
