Deputy General Counsel

We are currently seeking a Deputy General Counsel to join our team in Torrance, California.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Legal Department’s second in command, reporting to Neros’ General Counsel.
• Act as a versatile attorney, capable of ranging across legal disciplines and solving problems with non-lawyer partners throughout the business.
• Function as a strategic leader, helping to architect the legal function as Neros grows.
• Engage in hands-on tasks, ensuring no task is too small as long as it serves Neros’ goals.

Requirements

• JD and membership in a state bar or the District of Columbia bar.
• At least 8 years of experience in government, biglaw, or a combination.
• Experience advising venture-backed companies.
• A practical, solution-oriented approach to practicing law.
• Ability to translate legal concepts to non-lawyer audiences.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
• A desire to stock the arsenal of democracy and defend the West.

Nice to Have

• Experience with venture financing deals and M&A.
• In-house startup experience.
• Team sports experience.

US Salary Range

$249,000 – $349,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are considered part of Neros' total compensation package.
