About the Position

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer (Java) to join our team in Leeds, United Kingdom. This role is focused on enhancing efficiency and software quality, working within a multi-disciplinary team that includes Development, QA, IT Operations, InfoSec, UCD, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Experience of DevOps tooling, containers, and containerization
  • Communication: Ability to speak to stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical implementation
  • Facilitate information/business knowledge: Act as a business SME and understand business needs to support an efficient DevOps team
  • Stakeholder Management: Negotiate and influence with stakeholders to ensure the service runs effectively and efforts are correctly placed

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance
  • Practical experience using Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Experience in Java
  • Experience with multiple ecosystem databases, architecture, and integration
  • Experience with monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Kubernetes & Helm: Strong understanding of container orchestration with Kubernetes and package management using Helm
  • Experience with AWS Cloud
  • CI/CD: Proficiency in setting up and maintaining pipelines, particularly with Jenkins
  • Database Management: Experience with schema change management (e.g., Liquibase)
  • GitOps: Understanding of GitOps principles
  • Core Principles: A mindset focused on automation, proactive monitoring, continuous improvement, and defining best practices
