Director (m/f/d) AI & Automation Fleet Operations

Join SIXT as Director of AI & Automation Fleet Operations to shape the future of mobility with smart automation and AI. Located in Pullach near Munich, this role is full-time within the Corporate Development & Strategy department at Sixt SE.

Responsibilities

• Identify and unlock automation potential by collaborating with Fleet Operations teams to understand decision-making across the value chain and where AI can add the most value and translate insights into concrete initiatives
• Build robust multi-step AI agent systems that operate autonomously within real operational workflows, not just prototypes
• Move fast using modern AI-assisted development tools, then partner with software engineering to create durable solutions
• Shape the technical direction of Fleet Operations by influencing platforms, tools, and system architecture with a strong business perspective
• Translate operational challenges into clear technical briefs that Data Science and Engineering teams can execute

Requirements

• Experience: Genuine agentic AI expertise, having built systems where AI takes action, bridging the gap between prototypes and real-world robustness
• Background: Understanding the complexities of mobility, logistics, or supply chain operations and knowing that successful AI projects require more than just models
• Motivation: Proactive, taking problems from definition to outcome without waiting for perfect conditions or excessive guidance
• Skills: Proficient in Python and confident with LLM calls, agent frameworks, and data pipelines, ensuring maintainable and high-quality code
• Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus
