About the Company
It all started when engineer Fred Luddy wrote code that automated a tedious task for his coworker, Phyllis. She cried tears of joy. That moment inspired Fred to build a company that could do that for everyone-freeing people from busywork so they could focus on meaningful work. Today, ServiceNow is the AI control tower for business reinvention. Our ServiceNow AI platform brings together any AI, any data, and any workflow-helping 85% of the Fortune 500® work smarter, faster, and better. We're building an AI-native culture where technology and talent are unstoppable together. And we're just getting started.
Join us to put AI to work for people.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year product strategy and roadmap across Developer Reach, Developer Sandboxes, Agentic Testing, and Release Ops, and define how they compose into one lifecycle from authored change to governed, audited deployment.
- Build, lead, and develop a team of PMs, one per area. Set a clear standard for product craft, coach PMs on strategy and execution, and hold the bar on the seams between them: shared primitives, consistent models, and a single coherent customer narrative.
- Set product direction for validating AI-originated change at scale: what it means to trust an agent's output, what evidence a release needs to carry, and how much of the test and review burden can be automated without losing accountability.
- Drive the Developer Reach strategy, including the product model for building in production with admin control, guardrails, and reversibility at enterprise scale.
- Define the sandbox strategy: provisioning speed, production parity, data handling, and the developer experience of getting a safe place to work in seconds rather than days.
- Own the release governance path end to end, including the tradeoffs between developer velocity and auditability, and the gating model that makes those tradeoffs explicit rather than accidental.
- Shape the metering and cost-modeling strategy for this area in partnership with Pricing & Packaging and Finance, and understand how it impacts the entire App Engine portfolio.
- Build the triage discipline that keeps escalations across a broad product surface from displacing the roadmap.
- Model an AI-first way of working: use agentic coding tools directly, build and deploy against your own products, and bring firsthand experience of the pain your customers are describing.
Requirements
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- 12+ years of product management experience, including experience leading and growing a team of PMs, with a track record of setting technical strategy independently rather than executing a roadmap someone else defined.
- A track record of developing PMs, raising the bar on product thinking and execution across a team, and growing earlier-career PMs into strong owners of their areas.
- Deep experience owning developer platform, DevOps, or SDLC products at enterprise scale: CI/CD, test automation, environment management, release orchestration, or change management.
- Genuine hands-on technical comfort, including reading code, reasoning about system architecture, and holding your own in design discussions with senior engineers. Direct, regular personal use of AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf in your own workflow.
- Experience with enterprise change-management or release-governance systems and the tradeoffs between developer velocity and auditability, ideally including systems that gate deployment through a controlled artifact such as a change set.
- Ideally, experience with test strategy at scale: automated test generation, coverage and flakiness economics, regression management, and what it takes for a team to actually trust a green build.
- Familiarity with environment and infrastructure provisioning models, ephemeral environments, production parity, and data seeding or masking, and the cost and security tradeoffs each carries.
- Working knowledge of agentic development workflows and what changes when a meaningful share of commits originate from an agent rather than a person: review, attribution, validation, and rollback.
- Proven ability to build and defend an executive-level strategic case, and to navigate cross-business-unit governance and ownership disputes at the VP and SVP level, driving alignment across genuinely contested boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to run a high-volume operational surface, triaging escalations and production issues across many product areas while continuing to ship against a multi-year strategy.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, able to translate deep technical tradeoffs into a strategy that lands with engineers and with executive stakeholders in the same conversation.
We Offer
- Base pay of $221,200 - $387,100, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits.
- Health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan, and family leave programs.
- Opportunity to own the part of the platform that decides whether agentic development is safe enough for enterprises to adopt, at the moment that question is being answered.
- Take four high-stakes bets that are currently separate and make them feel like one product, with the mandate and the team to actually do it.
- Drive the Developer Reach strategy for bringing agentic development on the Now platform to any developer in an organization, and the broader production-build model, one of the most technically ambitious efforts in the org and a direct answer to a long-standing customer ask.
- Operate at the center of the Platform Agentic Build Lifecycle org during the shift to AI-native software development, with influence over how changes get tested, governed, and released rather than only how they get written.
- Grow a team of PMs at the point where the platform’s velocity ceiling is actually set.
