About the Position
Nova Ukraine is seeking Donor Stewardship Volunteers to help strengthen relationships with our current and past donors and ensure they feel valued, informed, and connected to our mission. This is a fundraising capacity investment, not simply administrative support.
Responsibilities
Working with the fundraising team, you may:
- Send timely, thoughtful, and personalized donor thank-you emails, letters, and acknowledgments.
- Help donors understand the impact of their support through mission and program updates.
- Support donor anniversary, milestone, and recognition activities.
- Conduct basic donor research to help personalize communications and strengthen donor engagement.
- Help identify and segment donors for appropriate stewardship and communications.
- Support preparation of donor communications, briefings, and campaigns.
- Track acknowledgments, donor contacts, follow-ups, and next steps.
- Support thank-you, donor stories, small mailings, and other appreciation initiatives.
- Help connect donor communications to Nova Ukraine's Heal, Build, Empower, and Advocate mission areas.
- Identify questions, concerns, or opportunities that should be referred to a member of the fundraising team.
- Help identify opportunities for deeper donor engagement and relationship development.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality when handling donor and organizational information.
Requirements
- A demonstrated interest in philanthropy, fundraising, nonprofit organizations, or donor relations.
- A genuine commitment to Nova Ukraine's mission and humanitarian work.
- Warm, professional, and thoughtful communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage recurring follow-up.
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment.
- Comfort using Google Drive, spreadsheets, email, and online collaboration tools.
- Customer service, fundraising, communications, donor relations, or nonprofit experience is a plus-but not required.
- Respect for donor privacy, confidentiality, and sensitive information.
We Offer
- Hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising and donor stewardship.
- Practical experience supporting donor relationships and fundraising operations.
- Exposure to donor research, segmentation, communications, and stewardship tracking.
- Opportunities to strengthen professional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience working with an international, mission-driven humanitarian organization.
- A flexible remote volunteer experience that can fit around work, school, or other commitments.
- The opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of humanitarian work supporting Ukraine.
- The satisfaction of helping donors see how their generosity contributes to meaningful impact.
Why Your Work Matters
Behind every donation is a person who chose to care. Your work will help Nova Ukraine build meaningful, lasting relationships with the people who make our humanitarian work possible. By helping donors feel thanked, informed, recognized, and connected to impact, you help strengthen the community behind our mission.
Your stewardship gives our fundraising team more capacity to cultivate relationships, secure resources, and support Nova Ukraine's work to Heal, Build, Empower, and Advocate for Ukraine.
