About the Position

We're looking for a Dynatrace System Engineer – Big Data to join our team in Zürich, Switzerland, in a hybrid working mode. In this role, you will design and implement observability solutions that ensure performance, availability, and reliability of large-scale Big Data platforms. Your expertise will help drive operational excellence, proactively prevent incidents, and optimize system resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end monitoring and observability solutions using Dynatrace
  • Monitor and optimize performance, reliability, and availability across Big Data environments including Trino, Kubernetes, and Kafka
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and actionable insights for operational efficiency
  • Apply proactive monitoring strategies to detect risks early and prevent incidents
  • Perform performance analysis, capacity planning, and root cause investigations
  • Collaborate with platform, data, and operations teams to strengthen stability and operational excellence

Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience with Dynatrace administration, configuration, and observability practices
  • Strong background in Big Data environments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and performance tuning for Trino, Kubernetes, and Kafka
  • Ability to apply proactive and preventive approaches to operational monitoring
  • Experience with incident management and troubleshooting in distributed systems

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with object storage technologies such as S3
  • Experience with Dataiku
  • Exposure to the Apache ecosystem (e.g., Hadoop and related components)
  • Understanding of Apache Spark and large-scale data processing platforms
