Engineering Team Manager

As an Engineering Team Manager, you will lead the equipment maintenance team at Ocado Solutions' CFC (Customer Fulfillment Center - automated customer order processing center) under construction in Busan through a partnership with Lotte.

Responsibilities

• Manage shift activities, maintenance team duty management, and work priority and allocation
• Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and other support teams to manage workforce deployment and effective maintenance activities
• Play a proactive role in team member development, providing advice, leadership, motivation, competency assessment, and resolving educational and technical needs
• Conduct technical assessments of the engineering team and support staff development and training, integrating primary maintenance of equipment and facilities
• Manage and develop departmental processes, including shift handover, briefing, and defect reporting/resolution
• Collect, monitor, and report on automation and maintenance activities
• Provide leading-edge leadership based on sufficient experience and proficiency in technical engineering, with understanding and competency in both mechanical and electrical engineering
• Set team member goals and conduct quarterly reviews using SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound)

Requirements

• 10-25 years of experience in equipment maintenance in automated factories or plants
• Excellent technical competency related to automation hardware and software (e.g., mechanical engineering, related degrees and practical learning experience, engineering technician apprenticeship, 2-year or 4-year electrical and/or mechanical technical competency)
• Management or supervisory experience in automated environments
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize
• Analytical skills with attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
• Comprehensive understanding of production, picking, and storage MHE systems (acquired through experience in automated environments)
• Experience in FMCG environments
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Proficient in numbers and the use of PC programs such as Word and Excel
• The workplace includes working in temperature-controlled logistics centers (refrigerated logistics center management). This role requires an 8-hour shift system based on a 24/7 operational schedule. (Shift work is scheduled to start from April 2026, subject to change)
