About the Role

Do you want full responsibility for a small nursing home in the heart of Bergen and be part of shaping the future of elderly care?

With fewer healthcare professionals and more elderly people, new ways of working and leaders who dare to lead are required. On February 1, 2027, Norlandia Care will take over the operation of Kalfaret Nursing Home on behalf of Bergen Municipality. Our vision is that every resident should experience a good life, every day.

Kalfaret has 34 long-term care places distributed across two floors and four living groups. As the Unit Leader, you will have overall responsibility for the entire nursing home. You will lead together with the department manager, be closely involved in daily operations, and serve as Bergen Municipality's permanent contact person for the operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Kalfaret safely through the transition and ensure stable operations for residents, relatives, and employees
• Have overall responsibility for quality, personnel, and finance, including budget management, result follow-up, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with the contract with Bergen Municipality and maintain ongoing dialogue and reporting to the municipality
• Lead the systematic quality and improvement work, including internal control, deviation management, risk assessments, and the use of the TQM quality system
• Ensure good interdisciplinary cooperation and clear division of responsibilities between doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other professionals
• Lead and follow up on the department manager and build a well-functioning leadership team with clear roles and short decision-making processes
• Have overall responsibility for competence work and follow up on attendance, work environment, and cooperation with elected representatives and guardians
• Ensure good information, dialogue, and involvement for residents and relatives through regular meetings and information channels
• Have overall responsibility for preparedness and be the municipality's contact point in unwanted incidents and crisis situations

Why You Will Thrive with Us

• Bachelor's degree in health care, preferably as a nurse
• Leadership experience in health and care, preferably with responsibility for personnel, profession, and finance
• Knowledge of the legislation for nursing home operations, including regulations on leadership and quality improvement
• Confident, clear, and structured, and lead with trust and strength-based approach

• Communicate well in Norwegian, both orally and in writing

Further education in leadership and experience with change management or cooperation with municipal contractors is an advantage. A valid police certificate must be submitted before starting.
