ERP Application Manager — Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central

About the Position

On behalf of our Client from the US, Mobilunity is looking for an ERP Application Manager - Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Our Client is a well-established metal manufacturing company with approximately $80M in annual revenue operating across seven locations in the United States. The company recently implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and is now looking for an experienced ERP Application Manager to take ownership of the system, stabilize the post-go-live environment, and drive continuous process improvements across the organization.

This is a business-critical role for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, improving manufacturing processes, and becoming the internal expert responsible for the company’s ERP ecosystem.

Please note: This role requires relocation to Texas for the initial 1–3 months. The relocation package is fully covered by the client. After this onboarding period, you will be able to work fully remotely.

Responsibilities

ERP Ownership & System Administration

• Own and manage the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment.
• Serve as the primary internal expert for Business Central configuration, functionality, and best practices.
• Maintain system configuration and ensure long-term platform stability.
• Act as the main point of contact for ERP-related questions across the organization.

System Stabilization & Operational Support

• Investigate and resolve issues related to production posting, inventory accuracy, manufacturing processes, order flow, and inventory costing.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
• Establish monitoring and exception reporting processes to proactively identify issues before month-end.
• Support Finance during month-end close activities, with a focus on inventory valuation and work-in-progress (WIP).

Manufacturing Process Optimization

• Support and optimize manufacturing modules including: Production Orders Bills of Materials (BOMs) Routings Work Centers Capacity Planning Inventory Costing

• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through better ERP utilization.
• Drive continuous process improvements across manufacturing and finance operations.

User Training & Documentation

• Build and maintain comprehensive Business Central documentation.
• Develop training materials and end-user guides.
• Establish and mentor a network of Business Central superusers across all company locations.
• Provide functional support and knowledge sharing to business users.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with Microsoft Dynamics implementation and support partners.
• Coordinate issue resolution and enhancement requests with external vendors.
• Ensure agreed service levels and project deliverables are met.
• Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Hands-on experience supporting a live Business Central environment after go-live.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

• Experience supporting multi-site or multi-location organizations.
• Strong understanding of finance and operational business processes, including month-end close.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both manufacturing personnel and executive stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Good spoken and written English.

Nice to Have

• Experience in metal fabrication, steel manufacturing, or other discrete manufacturing industries.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
• Experience with manufacturing ISV add-ons.
• Familiarity with EDI integrations and shop floor data collection solutions.
• Experience supporting subcontract manufacturing processes such as plating, galvanizing, heat treatment, or powder coating.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification.
