Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity to become the finance lead for PuzzlePlay, a rapidly growing startup within a major gaming studio. As the dedicated finance lead, you'll have significant ownership and visibility across the entire business, from core accounting and treasury to FP&A, international expansion, product launches, and strategic projects.

You'll work directly with the PuzzlePlay leadership and product teams, while partnering with Group Finance, Tax, and Legal. You'll have the autonomy and pace of a startup, backed by the expertise and infrastructure of a larger gaming group.

Responsibilities

• Own the Finance Function:

  • Lead month-end close, reporting, reconciliations, and intercompany accounting
  • Manage treasury, FX exposure, and payment provider relationships
  • Oversee reward liabilities, settlement cycles, and cash flow
  • Build and maintain finance controls around fraud, abuse, and user payouts

• Support Growth:

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting
  • Build financial models around PuzzlePlay's unique economics and user dynamics
  • Partner with Product on the financial implications of new features and mechanics
  • Support entry into new territories, including tax, payments, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Work with Legal, KYC/Compliance, and external advisors as the business expands

• Lead Strategic Projects:

  • Support intercompany recharge arrangements
  • Develop PuzzlePlay's finance systems, processes, and controls as it moves towards a standalone infrastructure
  • Own statutory reporting and audit as the business reaches scale

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• 1–2 years of professional experience in a fast-scaling consumer tech, fintech, gaming, or start-up business
• Commercially minded with strong technical accounting fundamentals
• Adaptable to working autonomously in a fast-moving environment
• Confident in building processes where they don't yet exist
• Comfortable working across finance, product, operations, and senior leadership
• Keen to develop experience across financial modelling, payments, multi-currency, and international operations
