About the Position

Fraud Operations Analyst

Wirex is seeking a Fraud Operations Analyst to join our Risk & Compliance team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role is fully remote and focuses on preventing and mitigating fraudulent activities within the fintech sector.

Responsibilities

• Review suspicious transactions: Analyze transaction alerts and make decisions based on fraud rules and guidelines.
• Monitor transactions: Identify high-risk activity and emerging fraud trends in real-time.
• Analyze customer behavior: Detect anomalies in customer behavior and transaction patterns.
• Identify fraud patterns: Recognize various types of fraud such as card-not-present (CNP) fraud, hacked accounts, third-party fraud, and friendly fraud.
• Work with fraud engines: Structure, test, and perform A/B testing on rule-based fraud engines.
• Support reporting: Contribute to data discovery and reporting for fraud KPIs and operational performance.
• Prepare reports: Submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as required.
• Recommend improvements: Analyze key fraud risks and suggest improvements to reduce fraud exposure.
• Contribute to projects: Work on projects aimed at improving fraud detection and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3 years in fraud or financial crime within banking or fintech.
• Skills:
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Understanding of crypto, online payments processing, and payment platforms.
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with fraud tools such as Checkout, Chainalysis, or similar platforms is beneficial.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and chargeback investigation is advantageous.
• Language: Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
