About the Position
Freelance Senior iOS Developer
We're seeking an experienced Freelance Senior iOS Developer to join a long-term product development programme for a Finnish organisation. This role involves working on a modern, customer-facing mobile application, collaborating with an experienced cross-functional engineering team.
Location: Remote (Finland) | Helsinki presence beneficial
Contract: Freelance / B2B
Duration: 6-12 months
Language: English required | Finnish beneficial
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality native iOS applications.
- Build new features while improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing products.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Backend Developers, and QA Engineers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Swift code.
- Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
- Review code and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and release processes for iOS applications.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing native iOS applications.
- Excellent knowledge of Swift.
- Experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
- Solid understanding of Apple's iOS frameworks and platform guidelines.
- Experience consuming REST APIs and integrating backend services.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming (Concurrency/GCD).
- Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and design patterns (MVVM, MVC, or similar).
- Comfortable working within Agile development teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience publishing applications to the App Store.
- CI/CD experience using Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with automated testing (XCTest/UI Testing).
- Knowledge of Combine.
- Experience with Firebase, analytics, or crash reporting tools.
- Previous experience working with cloud-based backends (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Finnish language skills.
