About the Position

We are looking for a Graduate Backend PHP Developer to join our team at Balance, a leading expert in digital commerce solutions. Founded in 2008, Balance specializes in designing, developing, and supporting high-performing, fully integrated digital commerce solutions for leading brands, educational institutions, corporations, and government departments.

About the Role

As a Graduate Backend PHP Developer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and future enhancements of solutions built on cutting-edge back-end and front-end technologies within the Magento and Adobe framework and platform stacks. This role will expose you to a comprehensive suite of tools encompassing Business Intelligence, Search and Personalisation, Monitoring, Security, and Application/Data integration.

Working collaboratively within a dedicated team, you will benefit from the guidance and mentorship of a senior technical lead, whose extensive expertise in the field will enable you to rapidly acquire essential practical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance back-end and full-stack solutions using PHP.
• Work with cutting-edge technologies within the Magento and Adobe frameworks.
• Collaborate with a dedicated team to deliver high-performing digital commerce solutions.
• Gain mentorship from a senior technical lead to rapidly acquire essential practical skills.

Requirements

• Recently graduated from university with a specialization in Software Development.
• Strong foundation in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and software development patterns.
• Proficiency in Algorithms and data structures.
• Experience with Relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in PHP and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with the LAMP stack.
• Understanding of UML (Unified Modeling Language).
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and advance your career in Software Development.
• Must hold either Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship.
