About the Position

East Europe Foundation is announcing a contest for a Grant Program Specialist position.

Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

Application deadline: until November 3, 2025

Work format: hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and execution of grant competitions: creation of the main parameters (goals, objectives, main activity type, target audience) and formulation of the contest announcement.
  • Holding informational meetings for potential applicants and grantees.
  • Conducting analysis and selection of applications for funding: organizing the work of the evaluation committee, conducting interviews with potential grantees.
  • Finalizing applications in tandem with a potential grantee, and the Grants and Contracts Department: identifying strengths and weaknesses of applications, adjusting application forms in accordance with the requirements of the Foundation’s procedures and policies and for the effectiveness and relevance of the proposed activity; determining indicators project effectiveness performance.
  • Preparing internal forms for issuing and closing grants.
  • Support of grant programs through the Grant Portal of the Eastern Europe Foundation: from the announcement of the competition to the closure of grant projects.
  • Moderation of grant competitions (or grant programs) through the Eastern Europe Foundation Grant Portal.
  • Regular communication with grantee teams, regarding the progress of their projects, resolving potential difficulties, and approving communication materials.
  • Conducting monitoring visits to grantees (if possible).
  • Approval of tentative and final analytical reports: verification of achievement of planned results and availability and thoroughness of supporting documents.
  • Participation in public events of grantees (speaker).

Requirements

  • Higher education in sociology, social work, public administration, management, political science, economics, international relations or related fields.
  • Experience in international or public organizations (project coordinator or project manager) of at least 1 year, previous experience working with grants will be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multitasking environment with high demands and clear deadlines, ability to set priorities to ensure results.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective cooperation with colleagues and partners; Proficiency of the Ukrainian language is mandatory; proficiency in English at a level sufficient for professional communication (written and oral) is mandatory.
