About the Position
We are seeking a Head of Japan Finance(日本法人経理責任者) to oversee financial and accounting operations for AnyMind Japan, focusing on closing, accounting, tax compliance, and transformation.
Responsibilities
1. Closing / Accounting Operations
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of AnyMind Japan's financial statements (J-GAAP)
- Management of journal entries, account management, AP/AR, fixed assets, and expense settlements
- Quality control and timely submission of monthly reporting packages to Group Finance
- Continuous process improvement for faster closing and higher accuracy
2. Tax Compliance(Japan)
- Management of corporate tax, consumption tax, and withholding tax filings and payments
- Handling tax audits
- Japan-side response to transfer pricing policies
- Coordination and management of tax advisors and consultants
3. Japan Audit / Internal Control
- Coordination with audit firms for AnyMind Japan (audit of consolidated financial statements)
- Establishment, operation, evaluation, and reporting of internal controls in accordance with J-SOX
- Maintenance, improvement, and embedding of internal control frameworks
4. Accounting Transformation / AI-Native Operation
- Management and optimization of NetSuite and related systems for AnyMind Japan
- Efficiency improvements in accounting operations using AI and automation tools
- Process design and execution for shorter monthly closings and reduction of human errors
- Continuous improvement of Japan-specific business processes while maintaining global standards
5. FP&A / Management Reporting
- Preparation of annual budgets and management of actuals for AnyMind Japan
- Finance reporting to JP management (P&L, BS summary, Cash Flow, etc.)
- Support and ad-hoc analysis for cost and revenue analysis
6. Team Leadership(Japan Finance Team)
- Management, development, and recruitment of the JP Finance team (team size: approximately 20 members)
- Standardization of work processes and reduction of dependency risks
- Skill development, evaluation, and motivation management of team members
Requirements
Experience
- Leadership experience in the accounting domain at a listed company or a company preparing for listing
- Practical experience in managing consolidated financial statements including multiple subsidiaries
- Primary or near-primary experience in dealing with audit firms
- Communication skills in accounting, auditing, and disclosure in Japanese
- Experience in accounting operations using ERP
- Strong interest or practical experience in closing acceleration, process improvement, automation, ERP improvement, BPR, etc.
Skills and Competencies
- Comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in accounting, finance, and taxation
- Proven track record in team management and member development
- Ability to provide clear finance reporting to CFO and management
AI Native Mindset
- Proactive attitude towards automating and AI-izing existing processes
- Willingness to use tools and technology to enhance team productivity
Nice to Have
- Certified Public Accountant or Tax Advisor qualification (or equivalent expertise)
- Experience in leading J-SOX internal control compliance
- Experience in leading closing acceleration and process improvement projects
- Experience in implementing and utilizing AI and RPA tools
- Experience in M&A and PMI
- FP&A experience (budget preparation, management analysis, actual vs. forecast reporting)
- Experience in the internet, IT, digital, or SaaS industry
- Practical experience or understanding of closing and disclosure under IFRS or Japanese standards
- Business communication skills in English
Compensation and Benefits
