Head of Regulation, AML and Compliance - DH Pay

About the Position

We are seeking a Head of AML, Regulatory and Compliance to join our Athens-based office at Delivery Hero Payments S.A. This role involves overseeing all compliance matters of the firm, including anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF), licensing requirements, sanctions compliance, third-party risk management, and communication with local regulators and other regulatory authorities involved in our operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, gap analysis, implementation, and ongoing monitoring/management of a comprehensive compliance program related to Payment Services Directives 2 and 3 (PSD2/PSD3), Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Terrorist Financing (AML/CTF), Card Scheme Compliance, compliance enterprise risk assessments, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, data privacy regulations, cybersecurity regulations, industry’s best practices, and regulator’s specific guidelines.
• Build, execute, and maintain a comprehensive AML program aligned with the firm's expectations, regulatory guidelines, and European compliance developments.
• Lead regulatory assessments related to the maintenance and expansion of our payments business, coordinate periodic internal and external audits, manage relevant findings, handle third-party inquiries, and work closely with regulators to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to the passporting expansion of payment services to other European countries, develop and implement new payment products and services, assess and advise on tooling choices, and provide compliance advice and guidance to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor wider governance matters by contributing to Board and General Assembly Minutes, contract reviews, and other regulatory inputs to ensure compliance language is properly addressed.
• Champion a strong culture of compliance within the organization, fostering a risk-aware environment while ensuring innovation coincides with responsible practices.
• Stay up-to-date on evolving regulations and emerging technologies in the fintech space, proactively identifying potential impacts and implementing necessary program updates.

Requirements

• University Degree in Law, Economics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of AML, regulatory, and/or compliance experience in a financial institution.
• Ability to effectively manage a team of people working in AML and regulatory affairs while cooperating with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
• Proven track record in developing, implementing, and managing AML programs and overseeing compliance projects and assurance services in the financial services industry.
• Experience managing relationships and effectively handling communications with regulatory authorities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to perform under pressure in a dynamic and diverse environment.
• Excellent command of Greek and English (written and spoken).
