About the Position
Import Specialist (transport & customs), Kyiv
A world-leading retail company, working in Ukraine for more than 15 years, is seeking an Import Specialist to join their team in Kyiv. The main tasks of the Import Specialist are to ensure full support of the company's import needs by efficiently organizing the work of all involved parties. This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with transport and broker companies, import suppliers, and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Efficient cooperation with the agents of shipping lines and freight forwarding companies: tracking shipments, scheduling deliveries to the customs terminal, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Provide efficient cooperation with carriers: placing orders for shipments, coordinating shipments, and coordinating the preparation of documents needed for UA border crossing by customs brokers.
- Efficient cooperation with import suppliers about import shipments: discussing logistics details, coordinating loadings, and confirming loading dates.
- Control the timeliness of providing shipping documents by import suppliers.
- Preparing the full set of documents needed for customs clearance of the goods (statements, calculations, etc).
- Forecasting import deliveries on a monthly/weekly basis.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in logistics or import (demand planning experience).
- English – at least Intermediate (both written and verbal).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (deep knowledge of Microsoft Excel).
- Specialized skills and knowledge of Ukrainian customs regulations, transport logistics principles, Incoterms, phytosanitary, and veterinary legislation.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, persuasiveness, initiative, self-organization, and multitasking skills.
