Infrastructure Engineer (k/m)

About the Position

We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (k/m) to join Oktawave S.A. in Poznań. This role involves designing, automating, and developing IaaS platform infrastructure, focusing on scalability and resilience.

Responsibilities

• Designing, automating, and developing IaaS platform infrastructure, focusing on scalability and resilience.
• Implementing modern architectural solutions to optimize platform performance.
• Developing and optimizing virtualization environments based on OpenStack and VMware.
• Automating administrative processes and managing services supporting the entire cloud platform.
• Collaborating closely with other teams within the organization for third-line support and engineering consulting.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience working with Unix/Linux systems at an advanced administrative level.
• Excellent knowledge of the internal mechanisms of Linux/Unix systems (process management, memory, I/O optimization, and system kernel).
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and diagnostic tools.
• Practical experience with:
  • Virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, KVM, Proxmox.
  • Containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Monitoring systems such as Nagios, check_mk, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch.
  • Configuration management tools such as Ansible, Saltstack, Terraform.
• Practical programming and task automation skills using languages such as Python (preferred), Go, or Bash.
• English language proficiency at a level that ensures understanding of technical documentation and effective communication with foreign suppliers.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and a problem-solving approach.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Openstack or Ceph.
• Experience with dynamic routing protocols, particularly BGP.
• Ability to configure network devices.
• Experience with physical hardware such as servers and disk arrays.
• Knowledge of other cloud platforms such as AWS, OpenStack, Azure, or VMware.
