About the Position
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join an Integrations team building and scaling mission-critical systems that connect a public safety platform with third-party tools including 911 call centers, state databases, and external agency systems. You will design and build integration workflows using Java and Spring Boot, develop REST, SOAP, and GraphQL API integrations, and contribute to reliable data pipeline architecture supporting Records Management, Computer-Aided Dispatch, and Booking products. The role is backend-focused and emphasizes clean, testable, and well-documented integration solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations between the platform and third-party client systems;
- Develop integration workflows using modern integration platforms and custom services with Java;
- Enhance Records Management System (RMS), Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), and Booking products with scalable integration capabilities;
- Design secure, reusable, and well-architected cloud-based integration solutions;
- Write tests, debug production issues, and improve system quality and reliability;
- Contribute to technical documentation and automated build and deployment processes that improve engineering efficiency;
- Participate in code reviews and contribute through a pull request-based development process;
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to deliver robust integration solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience;
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience;
- Strong experience with Java and the Java ecosystem, including Spring Boot;
- Experience designing and building integrations with RESTful APIs, SOAP, and GraphQL;
- Familiarity with database technologies and proficiency with SQL;
- Experience with automated testing and Agile development methodologies;
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and easy-to-understand code;
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build cooperative working relationships with teammates;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React;
- Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform;
- Experience with integration platforms such as Prismatic, Boomi, Workato, or similar tools;
- Exposure to event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
