Interaction Designer - Consultant

About the Position

Join us as a Interaction Designer - Consultant at Opencast, where you'll create user-centred solutions and simplify complex services for clients.

Responsibilities

As an Interaction Designer (Consultant), you’ll design journeys and interactions which help users complete their goals. You’ll work closely with other user-centred design roles, such as User Researchers and Content Designers, to solve complex and interesting problems for our clients. You’ll create designs based on insights from user research and data, apply best practice design principles, and make complex processes easy to use.

Requirements

• Essential Experience:

  • Created designs and prototypes based on insights from user research and data
  • Designed solutions to make complex processes easy to understand
  • Ensured your work is inclusive and accessible
  • Placed accessible design practices at the heart of your process
  • Clearly documented design decisions and articulated your rationale
  • Taken a supportive role in user research to test your designs
  • Designed to government service standards
  • Taken a methodical and considered approach to solving problems
  • Planned your own tasks, to achieve the aims of your project
  • Respectfully challenged decisions or solutions you didn’t agree with

• Desirable Experience:

  • The Government Digital Service (GDS) assessment process
  • Using prototyping tools
  • HTML and CSS experience
  • Working in Agile delivery teams
  • Planning and facilitating workshops

We Offer

• Competitive salary: £44,001 - £55,000 per annum
• A package including a 7% employer pension contribution, share options, and a discretionary bonus

Where You’ll Work

This role requires regular on-site attendance at our HQ, hub offices, and client sites, as well as the ability to work from home. Applicants must be able to travel to offices and client sites across the UK as part of their normal working arrangements.
