International lawyer/Contract lawyer (middle level)

About the Position
We are an ambitious fintech company that develops and offers a universal payment system, where we have collected all the necessary tools for running an online business. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced International lawyer to join our team. The International lawyer will be responsible for providing full legal support of the company, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and managing legal risks. Your role will be mainly related to foreign jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing legal advice and support to the company on a wide range of legal matters, including agreements, regulation, and compliance issues in foreign jurisdictions.
- Review and negotiate agreements with service providers, partners, and merchants.
- Conduct legal research regarding PSP, PI, EMI operation, AML, and KYC requirements to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Onboarding of service providers and merchants.
- Collecting, analyzing, processing, and updating KYC documents of merchants.
- Ongoing monitoring of KYC documents of existing merchants.
- Analyzing customer transactions based on a risk-based approach.
- Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures, including regarding AML and KYC.
- Communicate with external law firms, legal counsels, and foreign governmental bodies.
- Draft and review corporate documents, different types of contracts, minutes, agreements, policies, terms and conditions, legal researches, legal reports.
- Ensure that the company is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR and AML regulations.
Requirements
- Excellent command knowledge of the English language
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding operation of PI and EMI, GDPR, and AML regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Office work in Kyiv.
