Java Developer - Trading and Equities
About the Position
We are seeking a Java Developer with 5+ years of experience in low-latency systems for our Trading and Equities team in Toronto, ON. This role offers a Hybrid working arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain low-latency or real-time systems
- Design and implement trading platforms
- Utilize excellent Java proficiency, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management
- Command of Linux/UNIX command line interface
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in low-latency or real-time systems
- Experience developing trading platforms
- Excellent Java proficiency, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management
- Good command of Linux/UNIX command line interface
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with container runtimes (Podman, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron
- Practicing data-driven optimizations (profiling, metrics collection)
- Working-knowledge of CI/CD techniques
- Experience with React and GCP

- Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
