Junior Legal Counsel

About the Position

Genesis, a leading Ukrainian IT co-founding company, is seeking a talented and ambitious Junior Legal Counsel to join our Head Office Legal Team in Kyiv, Ukraine. As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will have the exceptional opportunity for professional growth within a large-scale international IT business.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, analysis, and review of commercial contracts, internal policies, and other legal documents.
• Improvement of legal processes and enhancement of operational efficiency within Legal Operations, including automation, standardization, and optimization of document and process handling.
• Protection of intellectual property rights, including trademark registration in the USA, EU, and other tier-1 countries, as well as copyright registration in the USA.
• Analysis of legislation in tier-1 countries and conducting legal research in various jurisdictions.
• Legal support for the company's ongoing operational activities in jurisdictions where the company operates (focusing on North America, Europe, and Central Africa).
• Involvement in pre-trial dispute resolution and litigation under the supervision of senior colleagues.
• Communication with business partners, law firms, and service providers in various jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Fluency in English (including the preparation of legal documents), international certificates such as IELTS/TOEFL are a plus.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in an international or leading law firm or in the Big Four auditing firms.
• Successful completion of a top law school.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Attention to detail.
• Initiative and willingness to work on a wide variety of legal tasks and apply creative thinking to solve legal issues.
• Diligence, organization, and the ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Ability to make practical business conclusions and strategic thinking.
• Participation in court debates (moot courts) is a plus.
• Experience in contract law.
• Experience in intellectual property law.
