AAC IT Services Romania S.R.L., their Romanian entity, supports the global IT organization and is growing as a strategic location for technology, security and operations capabilities.
THE ROLE INVOLVES:
ABN AMRO Clearing is building an in-house Security Operations Center in Romania to strengthen their global security capabilities and support the future of 24/7 clearing.

!!! Please also note that this role follows a hybrid working model, requiring attendance at the office 3 days per week, and operates on a shift-based schedule that includes weekend and night shifts.!!!
As an L1 Security Operations Center Analyst, you will be part of the first line of defense: monitoring incoming security events and detections, assessing their impact, and taking the right next step based on agreed runbooks, playbooks and escalation paths.
Responsibilities
- Monitor incoming security events, alerts, and detections during your assigned shift.
- Assess the potential impact and urgency of security events based on defined criteria.
- Follow runbooks and playbooks to investigate, classify and document alerts.
- Escalate relevant incidents to L2 or L3 colleagues when additional analysis or decision-making is required.
- Support accurate ticket registration, handovers, and shift documentation.
- Contribute to improving playbooks, knowledge articles and operational procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues in Security Operations, IT, Risk, and other global teams.
- Perform selected entry-level IT operations activities when security event volumes allow, such as supporting standard operational requests.
Requirements
- Interest in cyber security, IT operations, monitoring, or incident response
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, or cloud environments
- Analytical mindset and the ability to assess information carefully under time pressure
- Structured way of working, with attention to documentation and process discipline
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekend and night shifts, according to a predefined schedule
- Curiosity, ownership, and motivation to learn in a highly regulated financial environment
- Relevant education, certifications, or internship experience in IT or cyber security are considered a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in an international environment.
Career Growth
It is important to mention that L1 SOC Analyst role can be the starting point of a longer career journey within our partner's Clearing CISO. As you gain experience, you can progress towards roles such as L2 SOC Analyst, Detection Engineer, Security Operations Specialist, Threat Monitoring Specialist, IT Risk Specialist or other security and technology roles across their organization.
Selection Process
