About the Job

Thon Hotel Stavanger Forum offers perhaps Stavanger's best view from our breakfast and event restaurant on the 21st floor, 60 meters above the ground!

We are now looking for a head chef who will help set their personal touch on the dining experience to be offered at the hotel. We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the hotel's future food concept, while also focusing on profitability.

As a Thon hotel, we follow a very exciting and inviting breakfast and break food concept for our meeting participants.

As a head chef, you will set your personal touch on the other menus, such as corporate menus, lunch offers, and a la carte menus. Your job is to create tempting offers with correct calculations and according to the company's gross profit requirements and in collaboration with the central F&B team.

The hotel restaurant is operated by the hotel, but has its own name and logo, as we want a slightly different touch than the typical hotel restaurant.

• You are a professionally trained chef with leadership experience.
• You are a resourceful person and see the entire raw material as a resource.
• You are quality-conscious and have good contacts within the food industry and local raw material producers.
• You are creative, ambitious, and solution-oriented.
• You are structured, have a good sense of order, and desire order and discipline in the kitchen.
• Your spice is to lead other people and develop good teams.
• You are interested in IK-food, HACCP, and see the value of safe dining experiences.
• You are preferably Scandinavian-speaking but not necessarily raised in Scandinavia.

Responsibilities

• You will become part of the hotel's management group.
• You will have daily responsibility for the operation of our two kitchens, including purchasing, production, hiring, performance responsibility, and hygiene and food safety.
• We strive for a 50/50 distribution between operational activities and administrative tasks such as invoice control, purchasing, watch lists, approval of hours, IK-food/HACCP follow-up, menu planning, and management and operational meetings.
