About the Position
Kotlin/Java Developer (UF)
We are seeking a skilled Kotlin/Java Developer to join our dynamic fintech team in Limassol, Cyprus. Our team is dedicated to developing a secure payment gateway for merchants and users, ensuring compliance with PCI DSS standards. This role involves multiple integrations with various payment systems, providers, and gateways, including 3DS.
Responsibilities
- Developing new payment features and services
- Designing and implementing APIs (external and internal)
- Creating and maintaining processes in Camunda
- Participating in the design and development of high-load system architectures
- Supporting and enhancing existing solutions and services
- Writing high-quality, test-covered code (unit tests, integration tests)
- Conducting code reviews, including frontend code
- Optimizing system performance and database queries
- Analyzing and resolving production incidents and bugs
- Processing and resolving requests from technical support and users
- Analyzing documentation from external providers and defining epics and tasks
- Collaborating with the QA team to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Maintaining technical documentation and writing technical specifications
- Assisting in onboarding new developers and ensuring code quality
- Defining and forming technical epics
- Participating in the creation of business epics
- Preparing tasks based on approved epics
- Estimating task completion timelines and participating in sprint planning
Important and Challenging Tasks:
- Creating and developing reliable payment solutions with high security and performance levels
- Optimizing the performance and scalability of payment systems
- Integrating complex external providers
- Ensuring system compliance with high-security requirements (PCI DSS and others)
Requirements
- 3+ years of commercial development experience with Kotlin
- Experience with the Spring Framework
- Experience in developing payment solutions (billing, payment gateways, payment processors, exchanges)
- Practical experience integrating with external providers
- Experience designing and optimizing relational databases (MySQL)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (Redis)
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Codeium, etc.)
- Ability to critically review AI-generated code
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture principles and experience with distributed messaging systems (e.g., Apache Kafka)
- Excellent command of core software development and design principles, test-driven development (TDD), and CI/CD processes
- Experience implementing simple and moderately complex interfaces using ReactJS and/or Svelte
- Strong understanding of microservice architecture
- English proficiency level B1 or higher
Nice to Have
- Experience with Camunda (creating and supporting processes)
- Solid understanding of PCI DSS standards, ISO 27001, and other information security methodologies
- Practical experience working with AWS
- Experience with Jira and GitLab CI/CD
