About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Go Language Developer to spearhead the development of mission-critical lab automation systems, Business Process Automation (BPA), and scalable software architectures within an Agile and ITIL-managed environment. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing on delivering robust, reliable, and traceable solutions that integrate seamlessly with laboratory workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Architect robust, standardized integration layers (adapters/services) aligning automation systems (robots/instruments) tightly with LIMS workflows
  • Implement fault-tolerant patterns, state management, and recovery mechanisms for device/network failures
  • Deliver comprehensive monitoring, logging, and device telemetry to ensure system reliability and observability
  • Design, model, and govern a scalable, decoupled business rules engine, ensuring rules are versioned, traceable, and safely deployable without disrupting operations
  • Build scalable, modular systems with independent frontend/backend evolution, implementing caching, async processing, and secure-by-design practices
  • Define and document contract-first APIs with proper versioning and secure interfaces
  • Ensure full auditability and end-to-end traceability of all experimental data flows
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and architecture walkthroughs, fostering autonomy, knowledge sharing, and full-stack system thinking
  • Drive features end-to-end, prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and consistently meet deadlines

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with proven leadership background (1+ years)
  • Expertise in lab automation context (LIMS, device integration) and Business Process Automation (BPA/rules engines)
  • Proficiency in Go (Golang)
  • Advanced knowledge of Ruby on Rails and Phoenix Framework
  • Skills in relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), NoSQL, and key-value stores
  • Competency in API design and development using REST, GraphQL, and gRPC
  • Familiarity with AWS services, including Elastic Container Service (ECS), Simple Storage Service (S3), and Application Load Balancer (ALB)
  • Background in DevOps and infrastructure using Terraform, Docker, and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
  • Understanding of advanced Git workflows, code review best practices, and branching/merging strategies
  • Capability to apply Unit testing, Integration testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) with a mindset of continuous learning and adaptability
  • Proven experience in ITIL-managed organizations, with strong problem-solving/debugging abilities and excellent cross-functional communication
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience implementing or extending LIMS platforms in lab automation environments

We Offer

  • Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative environment
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Hybrid work arrangement in the Republic of Lithuania
  • Professional growth and development opportunities
