Lead Java Full Stack Developer

About the Position

We are looking for a Lead Java Full Stack Developer to join our team in Riga, Latvia. At Emergn, you will build scalable, high-performance Java applications and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in designing, coding, testing, and deploying Java-based applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, architecture, and delivery timelines.
• Conduct code reviews and promote coding standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
• Mentor other developers and facilitate knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Java development focused on high-performance applications, with strong expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Experience with RESTful API development and front-end technologies such as Angular and React, with solid Angular experience.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), including AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials, AWS Technical Essentials, and AWS Solutions Architect Essentials.
• Knowledge of observability and New Relic, including New Relic Observability Foundations and Observability Practitioner.
• Proficiency in version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, project management, and agile methodologies, with clear communication of technical solutions.
• Claude Code experience and an agentic mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience in microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices.
• Advanced knowledge of database management (SQL, NoSQL).
